TAPIA
digital passport for regulatory compliance in industry

The TAPIA project aims to improve digitalisation, transparency, traceability and responsibility (environmental, social and corporate) in the production of industrial goods. Its objective is to facilitate compliance with international regulations and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria. The project implements a Digital Product Passport (DPP) supported by Blockchain technology and Data Spaces, ensuring that the information of each product throughout its life cycle is truthful, immutable and accessible, promoting a transition towards more efficient and sustainable models.

Challenges
Digitise and securely record the information generated throughout the entire production process (product traceability) in order to comply with environmental regulations and optimise internal processes across multiple industrial sectors.
Implement a decentralised architecture (Blockchain and Smart Contracts) that integrates Digital Identity and Verifiable Credentials (VC) under regulations such as eIDAS2 to guarantee the authenticity and immutability of data.
Create a Data Spaces infrastructure that allows governance, interoperability and secure information exchange between all actors in the supply chain.
Solution
Development of a comprehensive Digital Product Passport (DPP) that combines Blockchain (DLT infrastructure, Smart Contracts, APIs) and Data Spaces.
The solution digitises documents (checklists, quality and sustainability records), traces the product life cycle in real time (from dairy supply chains to heavy boilermaking and the chemical sector) and generates sustainability reports, operating as a shared ecosystem free of intermediaries and with a high level of trust.
