Izertis strengthens its Software Engineering to lead in the era of AI

Izertis has driven a strategic transformation within its Software Engineering division, under the direction and leadership of Javier Macías, with the aim of reinforcing its position in software development, accelerating the adoption of Artificial Intelligence, and enhancing the delivery of high-value solutions across key sectors.

This transformation is structured around several fundamental pillars that will shape the company’s direction in the coming years, with a particular focus on Quality Assurance (QA) as a cross-functional capability to ensure technical excellence and quality throughout the software lifecycle.

AI stands as the cornerstone of the new strategy

Intelligent agents and generative AI take centre stage

Artificial Intelligence stands as the cornerstone of the new strategy. Izertis will drive the development of intelligent agents, advanced automation and generative AI capabilities to transform the way software is designed, built and operated.

With Eneritz Zubizarreta at the helm of Quality Assurance, these capabilities will also be integrated into QA processes, thereby enhancing the reliability and consistency of the solutions delivered. The aim is to boost productivity, improve quality and enable new models of interaction and business for clients.

SDD: the AI-first standard in software engineering

Izertis is taking a decisive step forward in its software development model with Spec Driven Development (SDD): an evolution of AI-assisted development that places specifications at the heart of the engineering process.

From there, this approach enables partial automation of the development cycle, minimises errors, and speeds up delivery.

The new SDD LAB, promoted by the Software Engineering area, is led by Frankie Carrero, Director of Technological Excellence and Delivery, and Sonia Silva, Head of the AI Centre of Excellence. It will serve as a catalyst for piloting, adopting and scaling SDD across the organisation.

Standardised architecture. Technical leadership

The company is strengthening architectural standardisation (architectures, patterns and solutions) under the technical leadership of Frankie Carrero, responsible for defining a common engineering framework for all teams. This will promote greater coherence, scalability and quality in developments, while accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies and fostering the reuse of components across the organisation.

Operational excellence in delivery

Izertis continues to reinforce its commitment to operational excellence through advanced engineering, end-to-end automation and quality metrics that enhance the robustness, security and efficiency of the software it delivers.

In this area, Software Managed Services, led by Ana Molleda Herrero, acts as a driver for industrialisation, continuous improvement and service scaling. The objective: a more predictable, scalable and results-oriented delivery model, aligned with the most demanding international standards to maximise client impact.

Strategic alliances with technology leaders

Partnerships with leading technology providers are part of our DNA. Izertis is strengthening its alignment with major market players through a firm commitment to Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Liferay and Atlassian.

To accelerate this strategy, Centres of Excellence (CoE) will be established for the leading hyperscale providers – Azure, GCP and AWS – spearheaded by Applications & Platform and led by Rubén Díaz. Their mission will be to scale up capabilities, accelerate cloud adoption, reinforce platform integration, and align the company’s roadmap with that of manufacturers.

FTS: the sector-focused commitment to financial solutions

Izertis is accelerating its sector specialisation with FTS (Financial Tech Solutions), a new division dedicated to the banking and insurance sectors led by Javier Vera, which combines consultancy, technology and operations into a single offering. It was established to respond to a sector undergoing rapid transformation, driven by accelerated digitalisation, regulatory requirements and competitive pressure from new entrants.

FTS represents a clear commitment to focus and scale: aligning talent, methodology and operations to help banks and insurers move forward safely and efficiently. Taking a 360° approach, this unit aims ti minimise risks, speed up delivery times and ensure the continuity of critical initiatives.

This new organisation reinforces Izertis’ position as the leading technology partner in advanced software, combining AI, quality and sector-specific expertise to turn technology into real business impact for its clients.
