This is what SSITIZENS, the Izertis project, developed within the European NGI TrustChain framework, proposes a new, more secure, more transparent and, above all, more humane way of managing social aid, and places Izertis at the forefront of digital public administration in Europe.

This solution combines cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain, self-sovereign digital identity (SSI) and artificial intelligence to improve the way welfare payments are managed. It is also based on European standards, guaranteeing interoperability and regulatory compliance, and incorporates a system of digital tokens, which allows aid to be distributed in a traceable and auditable manner.

Objective? Encourage consumption in local commerce, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most quickly and smoothly. 

Help that works for everyone

SSITIZENS does not only think about citizens. It also facilitates the work of municipalities, NGOs and local businesses. Each has a key role to play in this system:

• Administrations and NGOs: they can automatically audit the use of grants, generate detailed reports and ensure that funds are used correctly.
• Citizens in vulnerable situations: they receive aid instantly, manage it easily from their mobile phone and obtain a digital identity that opens the door to other procedures.
• Local businesses: accept payments in digital tokens which they then convert into euros, boosting consumption in the area and strengthening the local economy.

SSITIZENS has already demonstrated its effectiveness in a pilot project carried out together with the Cordoba City Council and the Uno a Uno association. Local businesses participated in the system and received automatic reimbursement of their sales, validating the traceability and efficiency of the solution.
