The main objective of the STELA project is the research and development of an intelligent manufacturing system for processing materials at sub-millimetre levels (micro-processing) using laser technology as a manufacturing tool, as well as its validation in three relevant applications in sectors with major industrial impact (automotive, water treatment and food).

This initiative, led by IZERTIS, involves MACSA ID, EXOM Engineering, FYLA LÁSER, AZUD and MAIER. TEKNIKER, the Centre for Soil Science and Applied Biology of the Segura (CEBAS-CSIC) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona also take part as subcontractors.

This project is subsidised by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) and supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation under the CDTI Missions programme.
