IZERTIS participates in the Q-CARE project
The objective of the Q-CARE project “Quantum computing and AI to revolutionise excellence and digitalisation in the healthcare sector” is the application of Advanced Artificial Intelligence (AAI), quantum and quantum-inspired computing technologies for the identification of new chemical compounds, the reconstruction of phylogenetic trees, and the optimisation of care processes, diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases.
This research will range from the incorporation of quantum computing and advanced AI algorithms in Virtual Screening (VS) and Docking procedures—facilitating the discovery and design of new pharmacological compounds—to the application of quantum mechanics principles to improve the accuracy and scalability of calculations in the field of genomics.
In addition, the use of these advanced technologies is planned for the monitoring and management of various general and complex chronic care processes, with a particular focus on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. This will progress from the use of quantum technologies to improve its diagnostic process, to the research of advanced AI technologies to enhance adherence to inhaled therapies, as well as patient follow-up and monitoring. This multidimensional approach, combining quantum computing and advanced AI in the healthcare field, promises to revolutionise both therapeutic effectiveness and diagnostic accuracy, offering a more advanced and personalised healthcare model.
The project involves Fujitsu Technology Solutions (coordinator), Additum Blockchain, GlaxoSmithKline, Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech and IZERTIS.
This project has been funded by CDTI and supported by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities through the 2024 call of the Science and Innovation Missions Programme (file no. MIG-20241169).
