Izertis subscribes to the "More and Better Jobs for Young People" pact, with the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic
We have joined the "More and Better Jobs for Young People" pact. This took place during an event presided over by His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic. The pact, coordinated by the José Neves Foundation in collaboration with the Government, through the State Secretariat for Labor, aims to bring about a real change in the current context of vulnerability associated with youth employment.

Our participation was formalized during the event, where, in addition to discussing good practices and challenges faced by young people and companies, we also discussed the starting point and projections for the impact of the pact on the country's situation by 2026.
The meeting, which follows the launch of the pact on January 19, 2023, also formalized the adherence of 51 new companies, including ourselves, joining the existing 50 companies that were already part of the agreement. The event took place at the Royal Picadero de Belém in Lisbon and was attended by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Minister of Labor, Solidarity, and Social Security Ana Mendes Godinho, State Secretary for Labor Miguel Fontes, José Neves, associated entities, signing companies, their young representatives, and other entities.
A turnover of 78 billion euros and employing around 260,000 people
There are 101 Portuguese companies that have signed the pact, with a turnover of 78 billion euros and employing around 260,000 people. Through this partnership, our company commits, through a set of established goals, to strengthen various indicators, including the recruitment and retention of young workers, ensuring quality employment for young people, and providing training, development, and giving a voice to young people. This initiative has a first phase that will run until 2026.

Ramalho also highlighted that "this initiative aligns with our current practices as a company, valuing the jobs we promote, the working conditions, and especially the many young professionals we have been incorporating into our teams".
Carlos Oliveira, Executive President of the José Neves Foundation, commented that this pact "is a very important agreement for the country, bringing together companies and public entities to address a reality that Portugal has been grappling with for too many years: the vulnerability of youth employment, even among the most qualified. Our expectation is that this commitment will result in the creation of solutions for a structural change that counteracts the current state of affairs and promotes a response to the needs and aspirations of Portuguese young people who want to find in our country the conditions they seek for their professional progression and personal dignity".
In addition to the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic, the José Neves Foundation, and the State Secretariat for Labor, other entities associated with the pact include the Business Roundtable Portugal Association, the National Youth Council (CNJ), the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP), and the Observatory for Youth Employment (OEJ), responsible for monitoring the pact.
About the Pact
The "More and Better Jobs for Young People" pact is designed for young people up to 29 years old. The progress goals until 2026 detailed in the document vary according to the potential progress margin of each company.
The "More and Better Jobs for Young People" pact follows the launch of the White Paper in December 2022, an initiative by the José Neves Foundation, the Observatory for Youth Employment, and the International Labour Organization for Portugal, under the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic. The document provides a diagnosis of youth employment in Portugal and its vulnerabilities, and points out several priority areas of intervention for the creation of more and better jobs for young people.
