Izertis leads the SSI 4.0 project
SSI 4.0 is established as a strategic research project, led by Izertis, bringing together a consortium of companies facing the challenge of facilitating the establishment of trust relationships among different participants in Industry 4.0, thereby optimising the functioning of the industrial ecosystem as a whole.
The main objective of the project is the research and experimental development of technologies to achieve a new sphere of digitalisation, optimisation, and improvement of industry, focusing on the creation of trust relationships among the various actors and systems within the industrial ecosystem, as well as the management of the sovereignty, integrity, and confidentiality of the information exchanged by them (credentials, designs, production data, etc.). To achieve this objective, the project aims to develop a platform for the management of sovereign identities and data governance in the context of Industry 4.0.
The project proposes the integration of several emerging technologies, such as decentralized SSI identities, blockchain, and new cryptographic and mathematical techniques for data sovereignty, across different types of entities involved in the Industry 4.0 ecosystem. It considers the opportunity to apply technology at the organisational and individual levels, as well as to production systems and resources, with the aim of improving both production processes and high-value or security-sensitive products.
The SSI 4.0 project has been co-financed by the Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment of the Vice Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Competitiveness of the Basque Government under the HAZITEK programme.
