Innovation: transformation, value creation and sustainable growth
Innovation is not only about having brilliant ideas, but also about putting them into practice in an extraordinary way to generate value and a positive impact on both our clients and society at large. At its core, innovation involves challenging the status quo, thinking differently and taking controlled risks to drive progress and achieve results in a disruptive way. In the case of a technology company such as Izertis, the market requires us to work continuously to maximise our capabilities, for which it is essential to involve as many people as possible within the company. This work should be focused on two strategic lines:
- To extend the creative, innovative and collaborative mindset that drives the adoption of new ideas and emerging technologies.
- Promote collaborative spaces where business development and operations teams jointly generate innovative solutions.
If we work in these areas focused on the needs of the market, we will be able to generate new digital components/products based on a defined corporate methodology.
What is an innovation strategy and why is it key to business competitiveness?
We must be aware that the generation of innovation initiatives must respond to a plan with a set of initiatives that generate an appropriate culture. It is a long and complex process, always evolving. To do this, the first step is to have a clear strategy and a well-defined commitment. Then identify concrete challenges and start with pilots. It is not about changing everything at once, but about generating tangible results that drive cultural change.
In our case, our starting point is to ensure that our services, products and processes are different from our competitors and thus grow in the market without competing directly on price and with a differential value proposition. The way to achieve this is through customer orientation and verticalisation of our offering in order to develop innovative solutions that truly respond to the needs of the market.
Under this premise we have created our own corporate innovation model that we have called iNNOLAB, in which we have set ambitious objectives aimed at generating solutions. We believe that the impact of innovation depends fundamentally on how we connect two key dimensions: our deep understanding of our customers and their needs, and our technological capabilities. Thanks to this model we work with a structured and systematic approach to strengthen our competitiveness and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.
This model also focuses on generating a culture of innovation through initiatives that enable environments that foster exploration, collaboration and experimentation, in an open and inclusive environment where people feel empowered and valued to contribute their ideas and embrace change. We propose actions that generate impact in the short term, but real corporate cultural change is achieved over time and through continuous effort.
A strategic plan such as iNNOLAB is key for any company that wants to commit to innovation and that will help it to achieve its business objectives and maintain its competitiveness, being aware that the success of the model should not only be measured by what we create but also by the impact we generate.
Business innovation models Which one fits your organisation?
Globally we may have different approaches to innovation models, but we believe that the concept of Lean Innovation, which is a term that combines the principles of Lean Startup and Innovation Management, encompasses the clear premises to which an innovation model should respond. A way to create value for our customers by reducing waste, increasing speed and fostering a culture of experimentation and learning.
Diversity of perspectives is what enriches solutions
Under this term, we highlight on the one hand the structured methodologies of innovation management and on the other hand, the bases of Lean: the customer at the centre, rapid market launch, reduction of waste or continuous validation/iteraction of the results obtained. These aspects are essential on the one hand to accelerate the innovation process, but also to achieve results aligned with the market at the lowest investment cost. The key is to iterate, validate with the client and not be afraid of mistakes, because you can also learn from them in order to improve.
A model that starts from the premise that innovation is not only the property of purely technological profiles. Multidisciplinary teams are needed: designers, engineers, experts in business, marketing, data, etc. Diversity of perspectives is what enriches solutions. Our heterogeneity must provide us with a differentiation to understand the different faces of the innovation prism and contribute from visions from "The 10 faces of innovation" proposed by Tom Kelley. A vision that clearly states that innovation should be seen as a team sport in which each player contributes in a particular area of the pitch in order to achieve victory.
Financing innovation: How to take advantage of the support available?
At Izertis we have always considered public funding channels as a way of accelerating our corporate innovation. In 2,025 alone, we are participating in more than 25 R&D&I projects (in the fields of AI, quantum, blockchain, cyber, IoT), many of them within international consortia. This has required the creation of a structure that allows us to have: a monitoring system to map all funding opportunities (at regional, national or international level), collaborations with technology centres, research centres and innovation departments of other companies, agreements with specialised innovation consultancies and the capacity to design, prepare and execute such a significant volume of projects.
This is a structure that we have been building over the last 10 years and that currently allows us to be a benchmark in the execution of innovation projects. In addition, the process has served to build one of our great values: the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary and multinational teams. This allows us to design and create solutions, new services and disruptive projects.
Innovation is not an option, it is the direct route to sustainable and competitive growth
At Izertis, innovation is not just another line of business, it is the backbone of our activity. Corporate innovation cuts across our entire structure. Thanks to our sectoral and technological knowledge, and our collaboration with universities, research centres and startups, we are able to develop disruptive solutions in multiple sectors.
Our strategy of creating innovation labs, creating acceleration squads, training aspects and scaling initiatives that impact our business. We currently have up to 10 lines of work open for the conceptualisation and development of projects in different sectors, where we are working with different prototypes. This capacity for generating and executing innovation projects makes it possible to continue to be a benchmark for innovation within the Spanish technology sector.
Our commitment to creating disruptive solutions that create real value for our clients is a shared journey. We invite you to explore and discover how our iNNOLAB model can help you drive your transformation and competitiveness. Contact us to initiate the power of team innovation.
