Jaime Echegoyen, member of the Board of Directors, passes away

Jaime Echegoyen has left us at the age of 66. The former Independent Director of our company since 2021 passed away this weekend in Madrid. 

Those of us who knew him had the opportunity to experience the background, professionalism and closeness that he exuded to those around him. Also, the enthusiasm and humility, despite his extensive and successful career, with which he lived each of the projects that have accompanied him throughout his life. 

Echegoyen had more than three decades of experience in the Spanish financial sector and also in large international banking, working for nine years at Bank of America, in the New York and London offices. In Spain he began working at Bankinter in 1988 and in 2002 he was appointed CEO, a position he held until 2010. A year later, he was appointed CEO of Barclays in Spain and Portugal, and in 2014 he was appointed CEO of Sareb, where he remained until mid-2021, at which point he joined the Board of Directors of Izertis. 

We join his family in our condolences for his loss and we will remember him with the professionalism and human qualities with which he left his mark on the entire Izertis team who had the good fortune to know him and learn from him.
